A cassette type roll forming machine has been designed to produce a variety of cold-formed profile by quickly changing different cassettes and sharing the same machine base.
Different roll forming machines can be used to make different roll forming products, such as double roll forming machines and all-in-one roll forming machines, etc. However, cassette roll forming machines always come to people’s minds in some occasions.
When you are going to buy a double roll forming machine or an all-in-one roll forming machine, it is usually necessary to show the roll forming machine manufacturer all the required drawings so that they can design and manufacture the machine according to your needs. When you need to produce more products in the future, you need to buy additional roll forming machines, which will be a huge investment (if you really need to produce extra products in the future). However, with a cassette type roll forming machine, you don't need to worry about future production plan. Because the investment in purchasing more cassette tools is much less than the entire individual roll forming machine.
The Cassette Type roll forming machine should have several sets of individual cassettes tools, consisting of different rolling tools, shafts and operation stands. Like traditional roll forming machines, cassette type roll forming machines also include roll former, transmission systems, hydraulic systems, and sometimes cooling systems, cutting tools and electric control systems, but the biggest difference is the roll former.
The roll former in the conventional roll forming machine has a roller whose shaft is mounted on a roll forming stands, and the forming stand is welded or fixed to the machine base with screws. While the roll former in a cassette roll forming machine is composed of two main parts: the main roll forming base and the rolling tools. There is only a base, but the forming roller is divided into several parts (2-4 parts), each part is composed of six to eight rolling tools, the shaft is mounted on a rolling stand whcih is welded or fixed to a subsidiary machine base, the auxiliary base is usually made of metal plate, c-shaped steel, h-shaped steel or square tube, etc. We call these sections with rolling tools and shafts mounted on the subsidiary bases Cassettes.
Cassette tools size and operation stands are different for different profiles. In the main roll forming base and each cassette section, we shall make positioning holes (usually one round hole and one oblong hole for one piece of cassette). Thus, the operator can quickly and easily change the cassette tools with high precision.
People like cassette type roll forming machine because they can assemble different cassettes on the main machine base to roll form different metal products. Even in the future, a cassette roll forming machine offers the owner availabilities for manufacturing more extra products and the owner only needs to purchase different cassettes instead of another roll forming machine line.
Due to the lower investment and saving the space of the workshop, many customers would like to choose a cassette type roll forming machine. And it will be more flexible to choose a profile during the real producing. For example, there are four main machine bases and 12 cassette tools, operator can choose any of the cassette tool in any of the main machine base. Above could be the advantages.
When one profile is being produced on the main machine base, other profiles have to be standby. So the production capacity is limited.
